Welcome to Fort Couch Volleyball! The season is finally here! This page will contain information about both squads from Fort Couch - those practicing at Boyce MS and those practicing at Fort Couch MS.

Boyce Practice Squad

Practice times: until 5:30

  • When players report to Boyce MS they should proceed directly to the gym. They are NOT permitted in other parts of the building.
  • Players are expected to attend all practices. If a player has another commitment (CCD, music lesson,...) that conflicts with practice please send a note to Mr. O'Brien telling him the day of the conflict and the reason.
  • Players are expected to wear appropriate attire following the same guidelines as for Phys Ed class. Players are encouraged to get volleyball kneepads.
  • Players will be bused from Fort Couch to Boyce. We will practice until 5:25. Parents should pick up players at 5:30 or arrange car-pooling for their player.
  • All home games will be in the Fort Couch gym and begin at 4:00PM.
  • After away games we will return back to Fort Couch. All players MUST ride the bus back to Fort Couch unless that give a note to the coach signed by their parent/guardian stating that they will be going home with the parent/guardian. The note must also be signed by the principal.
  • We will work on the FUNdamentals of volleyball emphasizing teamwork and skills. All girls who attend practice on a regular basis will play in the games. Grouping will be based on effort shown in practice as well as ability.

Practice times: until 5:15

  • All practices at Fort Couch will run until 5:15. Practices will take place on days that a game is not scheduled. Unless I cancel practice, assume that one will take place. If the Boyce squad has a game at Ft. Couch, we will practice at Boyce MS.
  • If a player participates in practice, she can expect to play in the game.
  • Please pick your daughter(s) up promptly from Ft. Couch. If you cannot pick her up before 5:30 please make arrangements for her transportation.
  • All home games take place at Ft. Couch. After all away games, players are required to ride the bus home unless they have a note signed by the principal. No one will be permitted to ride home from an away game with anyone except her parent/guardian.
  • The season is dedicated to learnig the fundamentals of volleyball.If anyone is caught making a distrubance or impeding the learning process, they will be disciplined appropriately and, if the behavior continues, they will be taken off the team.
  • Players are asked to wear their game jerseys to school on the day of games. This will help build team spirit and unity.
